History of VNCC

Construction began on the Vermont National Country Club in the summer of 1996 when the Economou Family received permission to construct a golf course on the 400 acre family dairy farm in South Burlington.  Nicklaus Design of West Palm Beach, Florida was contracted to be the chief architect with EZP Golf Course Construction overseeing the building of the course.  In late 1997 many changes occurred with eventually the club's current owner JA McDonald acquired the property and finished construction of the golf course.  The first nine holes opened for play on July 17th, 1998 with the back nine opening in June of 1999.

During the spring of 2000 the clubhouse opened, as well as the Junior Olympic Swimming Pool and two Har-Tru tennis courts.  Today VNCC is still privately owned and operated by JAM Golf, LLC of East Burke, VT.  The club's management are members of the Club Managers Association of America, PGA of America, The Golf Course Superintendents Association of America and the American Culinary Foundation.
